5 Easy Hair Styling Trends for 2021
Easy styling trends for 2021
By Annie Rose
I have personally always struggled with the way my hair naturally styles itself after I wash it, I feel my hair just can’t quite decide what style it wants to be. There’s a mix of little baby curls (oh how I wish my whole head was filled with curls) then some cute waves are thrown in there amongst a sea of straight(ish) but frizzy hair. For this reason my routine up until a couple months ago has always been to wash, blow dry and straighten, then style down or slick it in to a pony. Absolutely nothing wrong with that (no doubt a slick pony will always be my favourite look), but I am here to offer you, and myself, some inspo in to what I think are the hottest trends in 2021 for our luscious locks.
1. Oh-naturale
Ironic for me to say because I am still coming to terms with my own, but nothing will ever beat embracing your own locks, however they may fall, and absolutely rocking it. If you’re worried about frizz like me, some amazing products to try are anti frizz shampoo & conditioner, oils and serums will also help tame the mane while offering a beautiful shine (KMS Moist repair Hydrating Oil is my fave)!
Craving more volume up there? Try out the Goldwell Dualsenses Ultra Volume Bodifying Spray
2. Beachy Waves
This effortless look will never go out of style, whether you use some styling tools to create your wave such as the VS Sassoon Salon Curls Conical Wand, or VS Sassoon Keratin Protect Salon Performance Straightener. Or enhance your natural hair with some products to keep it in place (try the KMS Curl Up Perfecting Lotion), once you have the product in, scrunch upwards to put some texture in to your hair.
3. Classic, straight hair
This looks will always be HOT, so make sure you aren’t causing any heat damage! Gold wells Stylesign Flat Marvel Straightening Balm will help ensure your hair stays smooth and most importantly, protected.
4. Claw Clips
These cute accessories have been around for years, but have really resurfaced in 2021. The trusty claw clip is not only incredibly cute with all the different colours and styles you can now buy, but they are so easy to use. A little twist, fold or scrunch and voila – you have yourself a chic, effortless look.
5. Slick low-po or bun
Why is this look my favourite you ask? To me, this style requires the least amount of effort, looks sleek and sexy, and most importantly, I can leave my hair un-washed for days and no one will ever know. To keep your hair slick and not a strand out of place use a light spray of Paul Mitchells Firm Style Stay Strong Hairspray. And if you’re like me and make the most of your natural oils to slick your hair back, feel fresh by using a dry shampoo – Raw Nature’s Dry Shampoo is a nice natural one you can try.
Though some of these styles may not be ground breaking, I believe the main trend for 2021 is about embracing what you do have, and finding ways to enhance all the things that make you, you (a little product can really help!)
